My Writing Challenges
First of all, grammar and language have changed so much over time. When texting my friends I often find my self using short words instead of writing the whole word. I believe its a challenge for me because I try to change the way I write but I get caught up sometimes. Maybe we don't even notice because the person we're talking to might write the same way we do. You might think its not a big deal or it doesn't affect us as much but it actually does. Sometimes I hear people say "jk" instead of saying " just kidding" and it honestly sounds weird. Technology is affecting us in every way and it is definitely affecting me in my writing.

I agree with you with the fact that technology is affecting the way we write and the way we spell the words we use. I also have had that issue when writing an essay I spell the word wrong or abbreviate a word.
ReplyDeleteMost people do have challenges trying to find the right words to use when they are working on school work. When teens use abbreviation or slang in their work it makes them sound less intelligent. A persons writing can give a big impact on a persons perspective of you. In order to sound smart you have to be able to write smart, which means using words that you have learned over the school years.
ReplyDeleteHands down "bolas al pared" I agree with you Ana Karen, it's annoying to hear that honestly. As time goes on it may become an issue or just be a generation thing.
ReplyDeleteKaren, I can be the same way when I'm texting people. I often use short abbreviations than to use the whole word. Social media really has changed the way we speak and write.

ReplyDeleteI also agree with you that technology is affecting the way we talk. I also hate when people talk like the way they text. Maybe messing around is fine but using slag or short words as you talk to a friend in person is weird and doesn't sound right.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Karen we like to shorten out words thinking its better. It wouldn't sound so professional if your talking to someone important.
ReplyDeleteYou make valid points in your post. It is amazing how technology has changed our techniques to communicate. Technology really does force us to think about who our audience is when we are communicating. I mean if we choose to show a picture on social media, which social media will we use? Well it may depend on what the picture is or who is in it. The same goes for written posts on social media. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this topic.
